Charon, born James Tion, grew up in Atlanta. His family was unaffiliated with the corporation and because of that lived barely at the poverty line. With both parents working multiple jobs to keep their family fed, James found his entertainment elsewhere. Specifically he found stealing and joyriding in cars more enjoyable than his classes. This went on for years as he became an expert at car theft, until the day he spotted a DocWagon van parked outside the local stuffer shack. Unable to resist he disabled the kill switch, hot wired the ignition and took off sirens blaring. The inevitable car chase shortly followed and even made the news as he consistently out maneuvered his pursuers. He wasn’t caught until DocWagon authorized Lone Star to disable the vehicle. After letting him stew overnight in jail, DocWagon offered him a simple choice – Relocate and work for them as a driver, or be sentenced as an adult (he was 17) and sent to jail. Obviously he chose the job. The media reported that James Tion was sent to prison for grand theft auto, and DocWagon had a brand new hire by the name of James Chance.
